GlenFarrow fully understands the challenges involved in creating a safe, dust-free working environment within industries such as the stone, rail, mining and quarrying industries. Gravel, dust roadways and working areas, moving aggregate from one place to another — all these things cause different problems, requiring individual solutions.
Our experience of working in these fields allows us to develop innovative solutions to
technical problems that cannot be met by conventional sprinkler systems.
Our team of engineers will carry out maintenance and repair work on existing systems or can design and install new systems precisely to our clients’ requirements. We can work with existing water supplies or create new water storage areas if required.
In one recent project our client asked us to develop a dust suppression system to damp down stone heaps during truck loading and track maintenance. However, conventional systems would struggle to get adequate up and over water coverage as the stone heaps were up to six metres in height. Our design team solved the problem by installing sprinklers on long risers in the middle of the heaps. The resulting system provided good water coverage of the heaps and created a very effective dust suppression system.
